John Danziger, MD, Named Regional Medical Director at Healthmap Solutions

Nationally recognized nephrologist joins company at a pivotal moment in kidney healthcare

December 16, 2021, TAMPA, FL—Healthmap Solutions, Inc. (Healthmap), an NCQA accredited kidney population health management company, today announced the appointment of John Danziger, MD as Regional Medical Director. The addition of Dr. Danziger, a nationally recognized nephrologist, emphasizes Healthmap’s commitment to prioritizing home and novel therapies for helping kidney patients live healthier and longer lives.

As the company’s Regional Medical Director, Dr. Danziger provides professional development and leadership for Healthmap’s clinical team, supports, and encourages providers to participate in Healthmap’s Kidney Health Management (KHM) program, and identifies additional ways to improve outcomes and overall experience for members living with kidney disease. Dr. Danziger reports directly to Dr. Howard Shaps, the company’s Chief Clinical Officer.

Dr. Danziger is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology. He is a practicing nephrologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. He has also served as the Medical Director for the NxStage Boston South dialysis center. Dr. Danziger has a wide range of clinical experience in internal medicine, nephrology, and critical care, and has extensive experience caring for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). His research focuses on applying big data analytics to inform clinical decision making and mitigate racial, socioeconomic, and environmental health disparities. His research has been published in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, the American Journal of Kidney Disease, and Kidney International. Dr. Danziger earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Philosophy in the history and philosophy of medicine from Cambridge University in England, and his medical degree from Southwestern Medical School of the University of Texas. He has been recognized as one of America’s Most Honored Professionals (2017, 2018, 2019) and a Top Doctor by Boston Magazine.
