November 12, 2020, TAMPA, FL— Healthmap Solutions, Inc. (Healthmap), an industry-leading Kidney Health Management (KHM) company, today announced the appointment of Alison Gilligan as Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President of Strategic Solutions, and Thomas Watson as Chief Operating Officer. Both report directly to Eric Reimer, Healthmap’s Chief Executive Officer, and serve on the company’s Executive Leadership Team.

“The kidney health management sector is rapidly growing, as regulatory changes expand access to care and the number of people living with kidney disease continues to rise. Additionally, addressing racial disparities in healthcare has become a priority,” said CEO Eric Reimer. “Healthmap has built its industry-leading reputation by providing compassionate care to patients and achieving the value-based results important to health plans and providers. The addition of Alison and Tom to our executive leadership team ensures we continue to deliver the operational and service excellence our partners need and expect.”

As Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President of Strategic Solutions, Alison Gilligan will oversee Healthmap’s legal and regulatory needs, strategic partnerships, and provider strategies. She brings more than 30 years of experience as a senior healthcare executive with diverse experience in many healthcare segments. Most recently, Gilligan served as the Chief Legal and Strategic Solutions Officer for a nationally recognized post-acute and complex chronic care management company. She also held senior leadership positions with a large regional homecare company; an international strategy consulting firm; and a national sub-acute and ancillary service provider. Gilligan began her legal career as a corporate healthcare Mergers and Acquisitions attorney after earning her law degree from George Washington National Law Center. She received both her MBA and bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University.

As Healthmap’s new Chief Operating Officer, Thomas Watson will direct and oversee day-to-day operational functions of the company. He brings 30 years of healthcare industry experience to this role, having held leadership positions with some of the largest health plans in the country. Most recently, he was the Executive Vice President of Operations a high-growth healthcare IT (HCIT)/FinTech company. Watson will leverage his experience in prior executive positions, as well as his time on the board of three independent companies, to guide Healthmap’s daily operations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and an MBA from the University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business.

The two join a distinguished team of healthcare executives at Healthmap, including newly appointed Chief Executive Officer and co-Chairman of the Board Eric Reimer and Chief Medical Officer Richard Popiel, M.D., MBA, and a team of tenured healthcare executives, including Healthmap Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer Joe Vattamattam, Co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer Andrew Wall, and Chief Growth Officer Tom Gaffney. The company also recently expanded its Board of Directors with the appointments of Trent T. Haywood, M.D., J.D., and Jonathan B. Gavras, M.D., FCCP.

Healthmap has experienced significant growth over the last year as demand for its proven KHM program continues to accelerate. On November 5, the company announced a new partnership with Health New England to provide its KHM management program to the health plan’s Medicare Advantage, Commercial, and Medicaid members. Health New England joins two other large health plans that were signed over the summer. Healthmap is in late stage contracting with several more leading health plans to implement its KHM services, amounting to tens of thousands of patients across the country.

Currently, the company supports the health of four million lives and manages $1 billion in medical spend. The company’s kidney health management expertise uses the powerful and proven combination of big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and predictive analytics to identify people living with chronic kidney disease. This technology is integrated with superior clinical expertise to empower healthcare providers with actionable, data-driven, and clinically proven insights and patient-centered care recommendations.
